CFRP sandwich panels are among the classic lightweight construction elements that can be used to produce planar lightweight structures of great stiffness and strength. This is particularly the case if the sandwich face sheets are also made from pitch fibers, similar to the corresponding CFRP rods. For the core material, there is a choice between honeycomb core structures (e.g. aluminum honeycomb) and foam cores.
Even though the sandwich panels themselves are not manufactured by us, they are one of our basic structural elements that are considered in the design of complex structures. For this reason, many of the structures manufactured for our customers feature both lightweight CFRP rods and CFRP sandwich panels.
