PROPERTIES
In CFRP-metal hybrid structures, the advantages of metals, i.e. easy machinability and low raw material costs, are combined with the advantages of CFRP.
In general, a basic metal structure is reinforced with CFRP elements in one or two main load directions. The result is a hybrid design that combines many of the advantages of an all-CFRP design with an attractive price/performance ratio.
In our manufacturing process, we efficiently produce hybrid structures in a wet process. This produces semi-finished products that can subsequently be cut to size like semi-finished metal products and joined to the surrounding structure using modern joining techniques, especially laser welding.
